POSTIDENT video identification

POSTIDENT online identification via video chat on the Deutsche Post identification platform

The insic service POSTIDENT via video chat uses the identification platform of Deutsche Post to confirm the information provided in an online registration.

For cost reasons, the POSTIDENT variants serve as a downstream procedure if the SCHUFA process, Open Banking or other VideoIdent methods were not successful.

Transactions are billed through your contract with Deutsche Post.

After registration, the POSTIDENT process is started via video chat within the POSTIDENT app, which must be installed beforehand :

  • Start identification on your website
    • Transfer of the customer to the POSTIDENT portal
  • Choosing POSTIDENT by video chat as a procedure
    • Entering/correcting personal data and selecting the identification document
  • Video chat
    • A POSTIDENT call center agent uses the webcam to guide you safely through the video identification process, checks your ID data and takes photos
  • Provision of identification data
    • By entering an SMS-TAN the identification process is confirmed and completed

As an alternative, Deutsche Post offers identification at a post office branch.

Advantages:

  • Compliant with the Money Laundering Act, the Telecommunications Act and the eIDAS Regulation
  • Can be combined with POSTIDENT E-Signing for legally secure digital signatures
  • Flexible call center capacities in several EU locations

Users must meet the following requirements for the video chat process:

  • Smartphone iOS or Android
  • POSTIDENT app for identification
  • Stable internet connection
  • Passport or identity card with holographic features
